The LEADCOR Training Course, entitled “Training on Leadership Competencies in Correctional Settings”, is an e-Learning course created within the LEADCOR – Leadership development for occupational stress reduction in correctional settings project.

The project consortium (from different European countries, namely Portugal, Germany, Romania, and Belgium) designed this initiative to instruct prison and probation staff trainers with management positions or aspiring to have a management position on lowering stress levels by enhancing inherent Leadership skills. As such, this course offers participants the opportunity to acquire knowledge and skills in the area of Leadership, specifically: stress and burnout, leadership conceptual background, leadership competencies and leadership development plan.

By acquiring and developing these leadership and management competencies, prison professionals will be better equipped to manage and reduce stress levels; mitigate tension between prison colleagues; increase their preparedness to work in teams and different prison contexts and environments; increase their awareness of the importance of leadership and negative impacts of occupational stress in the prisons’ daily life; promote the well-being and mental health of prison staff; improve the quality of work with inmates and, ultimately, enhance opportunities for rehabilitation.
