How to identify and prevent radicalisation in correctional settings and support offenders during post-release.

This course requires a pre-registration.
It refers to the management of expert tutoring and group activities.

Qty:

This course proposes to improve the set of skills of prison and probation professionals on how to identify and prevent radicalisation in correctional settings, manage the risks related to violent extremism and ensure that offenders are supported and reintegrated post-release. This course is composed of three main modules: 1) awareness, 2) assessment and 3) intervention.

• Blended learning: autonomous e-learning sessions and live online sessions with a trainer

Pre-requisites
• A minimum of 10 participants is required to start this course. We will make sure the groups are formed accordingly once the 10 enrolled trainees are reached.

Pedro Liberado is Chief Research Officer at IPS Innovative Prison Systems and coordinator of the Radicalisation, Extremism and Organized Crime portfolio. Pedro holds a Sociology degree and MSc in Criminology. He is doing postgraduate studies in Strategic and Security Studies and is a PhD candidate at the University of Granada.

Vítor Costa holds a PhD in Psychology and is a professor at the University of Beira Interior and researcher at the BSAFE Law Enforcement, Justice and Public Safety Lab. Vítor is one of the authors of the RRAP Radicalisation Risk Assessment in Prisons toolset.
